The Burning Plains
A wide open area that seems to stretch on for miles, these plains are covered with short, luscious grass, with a tree for shade scattered here and there. Due to its open area though, and constant contact with the sun, it has not been deemed impossible for a wildfire to start here.
Sub-Boards:
- The Lake
A small lake in the area of the Burning Plains, it is surrounded by small clumps of trees providing shade. One can come here to rest if they wish, or just to enjoy the peaceful look of the lake.
- Sunset Field
This is where most horses like to come and reside, for it is a good place to be with friends and mingle. Come mating season, foals can be found here as well, often playing and jumping around in the sun with other foals.
- Burned Ruins Site
A small section of the Burning Plains that used to be just as luscious and plentiful as the rest of the area, until a wildfire occurred in the area one day. Ever since then, it has been a reminder to all horses that this land is still dangerous, no matter how beautiful it may look.
The Claim
A soft breeze blew through the land, gently rustling stalks of grass and slightly bending some trees as they all moved with the power of the wind. The sun beat down upon the earth, its rays touching each and every object that it could find, warming them with its power. The small valley dipped and widened out to an endless array of area, grassy plains stretching for miles and miles on end. There was a clump of trees here and there, as well as the occasional pond or small stream scattered through the area. All in all, it looked like a beautiful paradise.
Standing alone upon a small ridge, black locks flowing in the wind, was a beautiful mare. With a snort, she raised her head, scanning the area with silent eyes, occasionally stomping the turf beneath her hoof with a powerful force behind it. Her powerful muscles rippled beneath her coat, and with each turn of her head, there was another soft snort as her eyes observed. βIt is perfect.β She thought softly to herself before dipping her head down and then back up again, slowly trotting forward down the ridge, hooves barely making a sound on the soft earth of the plains.
As she continued trotting along the flat ground of the plains, she soon tossed her head, becoming excited as she suddenly dashed forward, her neck stretching out far in front of her as she began to gallop across the land, hooves kicking up dirt and causing it to fly in all sorts of directions. As she came to a small stream that cut through the area, she dug her hooves into the ground to stop herself, turning to look back the way she had come. From here, she could see the gently swaying grass, the way the sunlight hit each and every aspect of the area, gently bathing it with its glow. It was the perfect paradise for a horse. With a loud whinny, the mare rose up onto her haunches, kicking her front legs out in front of her as if she were reaching for the sky.
βI hereby claim this land in the name of Crow!β
